RE: Photo-realistic Normandy Buildings

Hi Chris

Nice idea, probably better than having to monitor Kickstarter.

My question that I was leaving until after Salute was;

I have tried a couple of times to download the file for the Church to print out but it will not seem to let me check out as a guest, I do not have a Yahoo sign-in or whatever the other thing was so was just trying to avoid having to set one up.

I add the file to basket and try and check out and it just refuses to go anywhere, it is as if I have missed ticking a box but no messages to say information is missing and I have checked and re-checked that I had filled everything that looked like it needed filled in.

Any ideas? (or can I now use the login I have for this forum to checkout?

Thanks

Paul

PS. Nice surprise to see the different tower options on the kit, hadn't picked up on that before I received it.

Hi Paul, the only thing that you need to do to be able to access free downloads from Sally 4th is to register as a user on our web site, which I think you must have done to access the Forums. The downloadable products work the same way as normal products, you add them to your basket, go to checkout and then complete checkout procedure.
This will generate an email that has your download link.
Downloadable products are implemented this way so that we know who has downloaded what products so that if they products is upgraded or if their is a problem with a file we can contact everyone who has downloaded the product to send them an update.

I had a similar problem. I think I went back and forth several times until it let me check out.

Hi Gregory, sorry to hear that. You have got them all now thought? As I said to Paul, you just need to be logged on as a customer and check out in normal way.

How are you doing with building kit?

RE: Photo-realistic Normandy Buildings

Hi Chris,

I got my mid terrace kit today over here in the USA. Thank you!

One question: Is it better to glue the cover sheets on before assembly, or after gluing the wood parts together?

This is more of a comment/change for you: When registering for these forums, for the USA users it asks for "county." That should really be asking for state, since the drop down is a list of states.

RE: Photo-realistic Normandy Buildings

Hi Tony, definately best to glue cover sheets on once building is assembled. If you take a look at the instruction booklet on page 4, the exterior cover sheets are not glued on until step 13. I find it is a lot easier to use a large brush to apply pva glue to building rather than cover sheet and smooth out well with your fingers to avoid air bubbles. As far as US States go, I can see what you are saying but it is a package that we use so we can not alter it ourselves but I will pass your comment on to the company that makes it.
