Ozz, The Great and Small

Front Rank Miniatures Seven Years War Left, Wars of Ozz Quadlings Right.

I’ve received quiet a few emails and comments on previous posts asking about the scale or size of Ozz miniatures.

The simple answer is that they are a 28mm range, meaning that a model of a normal human would be 28mm from ground to eyes, however this is Ozz and it contains very few ‘normal humans’…. maybe the girl from Kansas? maybe The Wizard …. but in our World of Ozz, maybe not!

The aim of this post is to illustrate the relative size of Wars of Ozz miniatures against some standard sized historical 28mm miniatures and then use a benchmark stand of Wars of Ozz Quadlings to show the relative size of the peoples and creatures within the Wars of Ozz range.

I have taken the Wars of Ozz Quadlings to be our sample for comparing to other ranges. They are about as near as you get to ‘normal’ humans in Ozz.

Although Quadlings are approximately the same height (maybe a little taller) than ‘normal’ humans, it is when you do a left turn and look at them from sideways on, you notice that they differ in ‘bulk’ to historical miniatures. Quadlings like there food, particularly there desert course and there tummies are testament to this. Saying that, during development of the game, lots of 28mm historical miniatures stood in for the peoples of Ozz!

We’re now going to keep the stand of Quadlings as a reference and see how the Great and the Small of Ozz compare with them. Overtime, I hope to add to this page and cover all of the peoples and creatures of Ozz, however, if there is a particular type of model you would like compared, maybe as you are considering buying them, let me know via the comments section and I will get a photograph taken and added for you.

The Munchkin are one the four original demi-human peoples of Ozz. They are considerably shorter than the Quadlings.

The Winkies are approximately the same height as the Quaddlings but with a less indulgent physique. They are athletic and straightforward, preferring to get stuck in with a melee weapon than stand at a distance shooting. Click here to take a look at what models are available for The Winkies.

The Gilikin, they are green and mean and small with pointed ears.

Small Pumpkinheads, they are the same sort of size as the Quaddlings (if the Quaddlings went on a diet). They are part of the Land of Harvest.

Mushroom folk. You get bigger mushroom folk and smaller mushroom folk. It’s the crazy world of Ozz. These are part of the Land of Harvest.

The Kingdom of Noland. This is one of the new demi-human races. They are a similar size to Munchkin but with big ‘Charlie Brown’ style heads.

Professor Nitpick’s mechanical men. These are surprisingly similar to Quadlings in form and height… but metalic.

The Elves… Santa’s little helpers. These are part of the Kingdom of Yule and everyone knows that Elves are small!

Giants. They are giant! Big models compared to anything else in Ozz! Giants are part of the Allies & Mercenaries range so can be fielded in any army.
