Earth’s Children: Pulp Alley Cavemen

The Earth’s Children is a scenario that I am developing for playing Pulp Alley in the pre-historic era. Whenever I introduce people to Pulp Alley, I invariably tell them that Pulp Alley is great for playing in any genre or period from Cavemen to Spacemen, so I thought that it was about time that I delivered on that idea…. Spaceman scenario to follow in a few weeks time! When I have finished play testing I will make the scenario available as a free pdf download.

The scenario is about food… right up there with shelter and water if you are a caveman (or women). The plot points in this scenario are food items. Two of the minor plot points are static, they represent areas that can be foraged for mushrooms, berries, honey or nuts. These act as normal plot points. A peril has to be overcome before attempting the challenge. They could be located near some quicksand or other dangerous terrain feature, or maybe there is another animal after the same food! The other plot points are animals to be hunted, the minor plot points are small animals like a boar and the major plot point is a large animal like an Auroch. After all characters have activated, these animals move. They move D8″ away from the front of the nearest character. The large animal (major plot point) is more difficult and more dangerous to hunt, so if you have not already successfully hunted a small animal plot point you must add one dice to the associated peril and challenge. This makes a difficult choices!!
