4 British South Africa Company troopers wearing early Pioneer Corp style jackets and carrying rifles.
The Pioneer Column were the first troops sent into Matabeleland by Cecil Rhodes. In 1890 this column passed through Matabeleland without fighting and set up a new colony in Mashonaland on the Matabele border. These figures can be used as Pioneer Corp or can represent a member of the original Corp wearing his jacket during the Matabele War in 1892. The jacket is the type favoured by irregular units throughout the late Victorian period, so these figures can represent lots of different troops throughout the Empire.
Figures are 28mm sized, made of metal and supplied unpainted.
