The Vanden Plas 1500/1750 (1974–1980) was a luxurious, top-of-the-range version of the British Leyland Austin Allegro. It featured a distinct Rolls-Royce-style grille, real leather upholstery, walnut wood veneer, and picnic tables for rear passengers. Despite being a “posh” small car, it faced criticism for its dumpy looks.
