Legends of Sherwood

Fine detail 28mm metal miniatures inspired by the Legends of Robin Hood designed by Iain Lovecraft.

The Sloane manuscripts in the British Museum have an account of Robin’s life which states that he was born around 1160 in Lockersley (most likely modern day Loxley) in South Yorkshire. Robin became a popular folk hero because of his generosity to the poor and down-trodden peasants, and his hatred of the Sheriff and his verderers who enforced the oppressive forest laws, made him their champion.

The Legends of Sherwood range contains miniatures for the named characters of the Robin Hood legends; Robin, Little John, Maid Marian, Will Scarlet, Alan-a-Dale, Friar Tuck and of course the evil Sir Guy of Gisbourne and the Bishop of Hereford together with an extensive range of ‘Merry Men’ and Anglo-Norman soldiery.
